Chickens & - FAQS
Q. Does using Pellet Beds really reduce odour in the coup?
A. Yes. The quick absorbency reduces the release of ammonia (the urine smell) and also as the soiled pellets are easily isolated and removed this helps to keep the coup fresh and odour-free
Q. How do I dispose of them once used?
A. Pellet Beds are fully bio-degradable (unlike other products) and are easily composted to use as fertiliser or mulch in your garden.
Q. Where should I store Pelletbeds?
A. They will require much less storage space than straw bales. The plastic bags can be stored outside, but we recommend, once open, they are stored somewhere dry and rodent free if possible.
Q. Are they dangerous if eaten?
A. It is unlikely that chickens would eat the pellets but as a natural product they are unharmful if digested.
